The Joyce Wedding - Deal, Kent
On a chilly midwinter's December day, the sun was bright and ready for Shaun & Shannon to get married.
Shannon got in touch with me back in 2019 intending to get married in 2020, but we all know what happened to that year!? Fast forward two years and they also had an addition to the family in their son Reggie!
Every wedding is unique, yet now and then there is something in the plan that I have never seen before and this was one of those occasions. After discussing with the vicar, we made the plan to do the couple shoot in the church an hour or so before guests arrived, even before they got married! We were able to coordinate it with Shaun to have him walk into the church with Shannon waiting at the alter. How adorable!
Old red heaters in the church kept us all from freezing as the ceremony went on, and with sparklers to exit we then headed to the reception at the Astor Theatre.
The venue was particularly dark at this time of year, but thankfully I was able to use off camera flash for group shots, speeches and the dance floor. It's helpful at times not just using natural light (excuse the technical talk!).
Shannon & Shaun, your family celebrated you three so well because you deserve it: your patience past the pandemic, your care for Reggie and your welcome hearts to everyone is why you're so loved.
Keep at it with parenthood, you're smashing it. Now go smash married life!
All the best, Tom Keenan Photography
