The Wedding of Janki & Andrew - Cambridge
I couldn't have been more excited to shoot a wedding when the details came through including "fully vegan", "in a forest" and "120+ Crosstown doughnuts". This wedding was one I will never forget for all the right reasons.
Janki & Andrew met in a comedy club where Janki asked Andrew out. They hit it off and did long distance, which was a huge pain, and before long they were casually and comfortably discussing marriage. Andrew beat her to the proposal, choosing Italy as the place of choice before going out for vegan sushi (apologies, if you are now hungry, I sure am).
This wedding was an Indian / British fusion of cultures - you will see in the photographs the henna and sarees alongside suits and a woodland setting. I loved how the welcoming of the groom was done so authentically to them - Andrew turning up along his parents driveway in a flashy red Lotus while Janki & her family waited patiently with garlands, inviting him into the family.
Jamie Walker the celebrant led an intimate service, telling of Janki & Andrew's stories while they read their own vows. A first kiss followed by a high five was such an accurate representation of how the newlyweds were all about fun.
It's not every day that you have your own forest to explore for the couple shoot, and a field AND a tennis court! We were in no rush and the couple had a great time reflecting on their journey up to this point.
This was a wedding without dancing, but with family time and conversation. Janki & Andrew missed their family and this space gave them quality time to catch up with their loved ones over gentle jazz music as the sun set.
Janki & Andrew, you are a beautifully unique couple with great taste in food. Keep on adventuring and living life to the full.
All my love, Tom Keenan Photography
